Giving your child more independence is exciting, but every parent knows the feeling that comes with it: “Where are they right now?” A smartphone can provide an answer, but handing a young child a full-featured phone isn't always the solution.
That is where the CubbyWatch Kids Smart Watch stands out. It puts GPS tracking, calling, SOS alerts, safe-zone notifications, and parent controls into a wearable designed around the everyday needs of children and their parents.
The watch features real-time GPS tracking, two-way voice calling, SOS emergency alerts, safe-zone notifications, location history, approved contacts, and parent app controls. It uses a compatible standard SIM and works with the parent app on iOS and Android devices.
For parents searching for a kids smartwatch with GPS and calling, CubbyWatch brings the most useful communication and location features together in one compact device.
Whether your child is walking home from school, visiting a friend, attending an activity, or simply spending more time away from home, having a communication device directly on their wrist makes staying connected much easier.
Through the companion app, parents can check their child's reported location and stay more aware of where they are during the day. The watch also provides location history, giving parents access to available route information rather than only the current location.
For a child gaining independence, this can make everyday routines feel much more manageable for the whole family.
This is where the watch becomes especially practical. Your child doesn't need to carry a separate phone just to call Mom, Dad, or another trusted contact—the communication function is already sitting on their wrist.
For families trying to delay smartphone ownership, this focused approach can be a very attractive alternative.
According to the product page, pressing the SOS button can call designated emergency contacts and send the child's location. Parents can configure the relevant contacts through the app and make sure their child understands how the feature works.
It's a straightforward feature with a clear purpose: make reaching trusted people quicker when it matters.
Parents can create designated locations and receive notifications when the watch enters or leaves those areas. Home, school, and regular activity locations are natural examples.
Once set up, these alerts can become part of the family's normal routine and reduce the need for constant check-in calls.
Parents can decide which contacts are approved for calls and messages. That means the child gets the freedom to communicate while parents remain in control of the people who can interact with the watch.
For younger children, this balance between independence and parental control is a major selling point.
Start by inserting a compatible standard SIM with an appropriate data plan. Then connect the watch with the parent app, which supports both iOS and Android smartphones.
From there, parents can configure approved contacts, set up safe zones, and manage the available watch features. The product page promotes a setup process that can be completed in under 10 minutes.
I recommend making a quick test call and checking the GPS functions during setup. Once those basics are configured, your child can start using the watch as part of their normal daily routine.
It's especially useful for everyday situations such as school journeys, playdates, family activities, sports, and visits with friends. Instead of giving your child a phone with dozens of unnecessary features, CubbyWatch provides the core tools parents are looking for.
If you only want a basic watch, there are simpler options. But if you're specifically searching for a kids smartwatch with GPS, calling, SOS, and safe-zone alerts, CubbyWatch is built around those needs.
At the time of checking, the official page was promoting up to 75% off together with a 30-day money-back guarantee. Promotional offers can change, so checking the current page is the easiest way to see the latest available deal.
